Opportunities and success from diversity

The “Charter of Diversity" is an initiative to promote diversity in companies and is thus a fundamental commitment to diversity, tolerance, fairness and recognition of the value of people.

What does diversity mean?

ahr employs people from 88 different countries. This makes us a multicultural company who supports and promotes the diversity of its employees. “By signing the charter, we have demonstrated our commitment to creating an environment free from prejudice. and have publicly declared what has already been true for many years at ahr” said Martin Bürger, Chairman of the Executive Board.  Diversity means recognizing the value of every employee and creating a corporate culture based on integration and mutual respect, which recognizes and makes use of the varied talents of employees in the work place, as is laid down in ahr’s philosophy.

Who founded the Charter of Diversity?

With the support of the Federal Government Commission for Migration, Refugees and Integration, the companies Daimler, Deutsche BP, Deutsche Bank and Telekom, founded the “Charter of Diversity” in 2006. Several hundred companies and institutions have already joined the charter. The initiative is also supported by the chancellor: “The Charter of Diversity is an important contribution to a culture of diversity and a society where people live together with mutual acceptance and trust”, said patron Dr. Angela Merkel.
